Texas Weather

So last week, we went through about 6 different types of weather change. Living in Texas is amazing, but the weather? Not so much.

Now people say us Texans sometimes exaggerate the weather or how things go down here, but in all honesty, most if it is true.

On Monday, we started with really nice weather in the lower 70's, which was incredible. I was able to wear a t-shirt and shorts. Tuesday was in the 60's but very windy, but it was still pretty nice. Leggings and a nice shirt and boom! I was good to go.

Wednesday? I woke up to roads covered in ice - not snow - ice. It was raining ice and no one could get out on the roads. I checked my phone to see what was going on with the weather, and it was in the teens. We went from 60 degree weather to freezing ice within 8 hours.

Why?

I mean, it was great because classes were cancelled on Wednesday and Thursday.

It was freezing though. Wednesday I was inside all day with my boyfriend and friends playing games and watching movies. We didn't really get out. On Thursday it was still freezing, but we were able to actually walk outside without fearing we were going to fall on ice and break something (mainly me because I'm super clumsy).

Thursday was interesting because it was freezing but then it got above freezing by the end of the day. How weird is that?

And by Friday?

It was pouring RAIN. Rain.

Texas could not make up it's mind whether it was summer, fall, winter, or spring.

All the weather change gave me major whiplash.

It's funny now, but at the time none of us could figure out what was going on. By Saturday it was beginning to warm up again to the 50's and we were so confused. We didn't know what to do with the weather.

It was great having a few days off of school because of the weather, but this week was hectic getting back to school and making up for the time we lost because of the crazy weather Texas has.

So yes, us Texans may exaggerate on a lot of things that happens or the weather, but let me tell you, we exaggerate because it's happened so many times. Our weather changes so much now we basically expect it. Sometimes it surprises us how much it changes and the seasons we experience in a day, but at the end of the day, we know it's coming because hey, we live in Texas.

Texas is a wonderful state and I love it so so much, but I do wish the weather would even out sometimes so we quit having to keep our summer clothes out in the middle of winter.

If you can imagine, it gets quite annoying.

Have a great week guys!
