Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Today is a day celebrating love for one another. Love for relationships, for family, for friends, and love in general. It always makes me happy to see how positive people look at this day, even if they aren't technically in a 'relationship'. Of course, not everyone is for this day, or like having a day devoted to love, and I can't exactly blame them. I used to be the same way.

While I'll be the first to say, I was always a negative Nancy when it came to love, that has changed over time. Love can be cringy or scary, but most of it comes from experiences or thoughts thinking love is that way.

But what I've been learning, is that love is so much more than what people say it is, and maybe, sometimes less complicated than what you think.

The Bible gives us a perfect example of what love is supposed to look like. I'm sure everyone has at least heard of the passage: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. It's commonly known as the love passage, and is something so amazing to actually hear and analyze.

Understanding what love actually is, and what God intended love to be, makes days like this so incredibly special. Knowing that love is patient, kind, not envious, not boastful, not proud, and all these other traits, is setting up an image of the true value and true meaning of love. It's quite beautiful, if you think about it.

Love is an amazing feeling and action given to us by God. Today is a day designated to celebrating this love. What would be amazing, however, is if we all loved this much every day of our lives. It would change how we live our lives.

Love the people in your lives. Love the one you are in a relationship, love your family, your friends, and even the ones around you. Especially on this day, but everyday after that.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Have a wonderful day filled with love!
